A newbies view on disruption within an ancient industry...
I was lucky enough to be asked to give the opening keynote for Insurance Technology 2014. Given that I've only been working within the insurance sector for less than a year, I wanted to draw on my experiences from the broader high-tech sector in my talk. To someone who has worked in both worlds, the stark contrast is very apparent.
I have always been fascinated by disruptive innovation. From where I am standing, it seems that the insurance industry is on the cusp of change. I want a front row seat when that starts to happen!
This talk highlights patterns in wider industry and is meant as a call to arms for insurance leaders to challenge the status quo and begin driving change from within.
